Recipe Vault — Offline Cookbook, Meal Planner & Grocery List

Overview

Recipe Vault ("the App") is developed and maintained by Koopware ("we", "us", or "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.

The short version: Recipe Vault stores all your recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists locally on your device. Your data is never uploaded to any server. Premium users see no advertisements.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party:

  • Recipe data — Your recipes, ingredients, steps, tags, and notes
  • Recipe photos — Photos you add to recipes are stored locally and never uploaded
  • Meal plans — Your weekly meal plan entries and scheduling
  • Grocery lists — Generated and manually added grocery items
  • Pantry items — Your pantry inventory for smart grocery exclusion
  • App preferences — Theme selection and display settings
  • Premium status — Whether you have purchased the premium upgrade

Web Recipe Import

When you import a recipe from a URL, the App fetches the webpage content directly from your device to extract recipe data. We do not proxy, log, or store the URLs you visit. The fetched content is processed on-device and only the extracted recipe data is saved locally.

Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The free version of Recipe Vault displays a small banner advertisement. The following third-party advertising service is used:

This service may collect anonymous, non-personal device information (such as device type, operating system version, and anonymous advertising identifiers) solely for the purpose of serving relevant advertisements. No personally identifiable information is shared. Premium users see no advertisements and no advertising data is collected.

Device Permissions

Recipe Vault may request the following optional permissions:

  • Photo library access — Used solely for adding photos to your recipes. Photos are stored locally and never uploaded. The App functions fully without this permission.
  • Internet access — Used for displaying advertisements (free version) and importing recipes from websites. No personal data is transmitted.

In-App Purchases

Recipe Vault offers a one-time premium upgrade that unlocks unlimited recipes and removes all advertisements. This transaction is processed entirely by the app store (Amazon Appstore or Huawei AppGallery). We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment information.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. We do not operate any servers or cloud infrastructure for this App. Your recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists remain entirely under your control and never leave your device.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times:

  • Delete recipes — Remove individual recipes, meal plans, or grocery items within the App
  • Clear grocery list — Clear checked or all grocery items within the App
  • Reset preferences — Clearing the App's data through your device settings will reset all preferences
  • Delete all data — Uninstalling the App removes all associated data from your device

Children's Privacy

Recipe Vault is a general-audience utility application. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
