The short version: QR Scanner Pro processes all camera data on your device. Scan history and generated QR codes are stored locally. No images or scan data are ever uploaded to any server.

Overview

QR Scanner Pro ("the App") is developed and maintained by Koopware ("we", "us", or "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Scan history — Scanned barcode values, types, and timestamps
  • Generated QR codes — QR codes you create within the App
  • App preferences — Theme, haptic feedback, and scan settings
  • Premium status — Whether you have purchased the ad-free upgrade

Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The free version displays a small banner advertisement. Depending on the app store:

  • Amazon Appstore version: AppLovin MAX — may collect anonymous device identifiers for ad personalisation

These services may collect anonymous, non-personal device information solely for serving relevant advertisements. No personally identifiable information is shared.

Device Permissions

  • Camera permission — Required for scanning QR codes and barcodes only. All camera processing happens on your device in real-time. No images are captured, stored, or transmitted.

No other permissions are requested.

In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional "Remove Ads" purchase processed entirely by the app store. We do not collect or have access to any payment information.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored locally on your device using encrypted platform storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers or cloud infrastructure for this App.

Your Rights

  • Clear history — Use "Clear History" in the App to delete all scan records
  • Delete individual scans — Swipe to remove individual entries
  • Reset preferences — Clear the App's data through your device settings
  • Delete all data — Uninstalling the App removes all associated data

Children's Privacy

QR Scanner Pro is a general-audience utility application. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We comply with COPPA and similar regulations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
