Overview

Compass & Qibla Pro ("the App") is developed and maintained by Koopware ("we", "us", or "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use the App.

The short version: Compass & Qibla Pro processes all sensor and location data on your device in real-time. Nothing is stored, recorded, or transmitted to any server.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • App preferences — Theme and display settings
  • Premium status — Whether you have purchased the ad-free upgrade

No personal data, location history, or sensor readings are stored at any time.

Sensor & Location Data

Compass & Qibla Pro uses the following device sensors. All data is processed in real-time on your device and is never stored or transmitted:

  • Magnetometer — Used to determine compass heading. Processed in real-time, never recorded.
  • Accelerometer — Used for tilt compensation and spirit level. Processed in real-time, never recorded.
  • Location (GPS) — Used only when Qibla direction is enabled, to calculate the bearing to Mecca. Your location is processed on-device using a mathematical formula and is never stored, transmitted, or shared.

Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The free version displays a small banner advertisement. Depending on the app store:

  • Amazon Appstore version: AppLovin MAX — may collect anonymous device identifiers for ad personalisation
  • Huawei AppGallery version: Huawei Petal Ads — may collect anonymous device identifiers for ad personalisation

These services may collect anonymous, non-personal device information solely for serving relevant advertisements. No personally identifiable information is shared.

Device Permissions

  • Location — Used to calculate Qibla direction. Only accessed when Qibla mode is active. Never stored or transmitted.
  • Motion sensors — Magnetometer and accelerometer for compass heading and spirit level.

If your device lacks a magnetometer (common on some tablets), the App will notify you and provide limited functionality.

In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional "Remove Ads" purchase processed entirely by the app store. We do not collect or have access to any payment information.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored locally on your device. Compass and Qibla calculations happen in real-time and are not persisted. We do not operate servers or cloud infrastructure for this App.

Your Rights

  • Revoke permissions — You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings
  • Reset preferences — Clear the App's data through your device settings
  • Delete all data — Uninstalling the App removes all associated data

Children's Privacy

Compass & Qibla Pro is a general-audience utility application. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We comply with COPPA and similar regulations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
